Unpacked Bread
Store in clean, dry and we ventilated containers (e.g. bread crock, bread box or in a cloth sack).- For rye and mixed breads, a ceramic bread crock, unglazed inside, is perfect.
- Clean regularly with a vinegar/water solution; acetic acid prevents mold.
- Always store packed.
- In order to keep bread fresh longer, use paper or mesh bags.
- Not recommended, since the bread will quickly lose its aroma and taste stale.
- Store bread in an air-tight freezer bag for up to 4 weeks, let the desired amount of bread thaw and then heat up lightly in the oven; however this only applies to rolls and whole loaves.
- Keep in mind: Sliced bread should not be reheated.
Our Tip:
Buy your bread on warm summer days and in small quantities.
This helps prevent mold and hard, unpleasant-tasting bread.
